Spanish film actress, born in Madrid, Spain, daughter of actor Fernando Fresno.Although she started her career in theater at a young age, she made her film debut at the age of eighteen in Water in the Ground (1934). After the Spanish Civil War broke out, she had to flee Spain to Argentina, where she pursued her career in theater while studying chemistry. She returned to Spain after the war and rose to prominence in the art world. She is known for The Prodigal Woman (1946), The Holy Queen (1947), Solomon and Sheba (1959), and Blood and Passion (1976). She died on July 19, 2003, in El Escorial, Madrid, Spain.
