Austrian-American actress born Cäcilia Josefina Lvovsky on 21 February 1897 in Vienna, Austria. She studied theater, dance, and languages at the Royal Academy of Arts and Music. Afterwards, she moved to Berlin to work in surrealist theater, where she met he future husband, Peter Lorre, whom she married in the US in 1934. She retired to work as a publicist for her husband then returned to acting when they divorced in 1945. Her notable works include Death of a Scoundrel (1956), Soylent Green (1973), Star Trek (1967), and Hitler (1962). She died on 12 October 1979 in Los Angeles, California, US.
