A South African-born British actor, born in Fauresmith, South Africa. In 1957, he married Shirley Goulden, and they had a son before divorcing in 1977. He is known for Horror of Dracula (1958), A Story of David (1960), The Men of Sherwood Forest (1954), and Account Rendered (1957). He was also an agent and film production executive.
Born in South Africa, he moved to Britain after World War II. He joined the Central School of Speech and Drama and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He worked in theater, radio, film, and television. He retired from acting in 1961 to become a literary agent for London Management. He joined Columbia Pictures' UK division in 1965, and in 1969, he was promoted to Worldwide Head of Production and relocated to New York, then he resigned in 1974 to work as an independent producer.
He returned to England in 1991 and played a huge role in founding the Chelsea Film Festival. His first movie was The Angel with the Trumpet (1950). He devoted himself to administrative and production work after making his last film The Dark Room of Damocles (1963), a Dutch production. He died in Fulham, London, England, United Kingdom, on November 13, 1995, of cancer.
