An American actor, born in South Bend, Indiana, on June 11, 1922. He gained his first acting experience at the La Jolla Playhouse and served in the US Navy in WWII. John Bromfield made his film debut in Harpoon (1948), and in the same year, he appeared in Sorry, Wrong Number. In the mid-1950s, John Bromfield appeared in TV Westerns, such as The Sheriff of Cochise (1956-1958). In 1960, Bromfield retired from acting to produce sports shows and work as a commercial tuna fisherman off the coast of Newport Beach, California. His most important works include The Furies (1950), Hot Cars (1956), and The Sheriff of Cochise (1956-1958). He died in Palm Desert, California, on September 18, 2005, of kidney failure.
