He was a Scottish actor, born in Paisley, UK, as Robert James McAllister. He appeared in various productions such as cinema, theater, and TV for five decades. He was the chairman of the Hadleigh Amateur Dramatic Society. His film debut was Tony Draws a Horse (1950). His notable works include Triton (1961), Blake's 7 (1978), and Smuggler's Bay (1964). His last appearance was in Suburban Nightmare (2004). He was married to Mona Bruce, with whom he had a child. He died at the age of 80 on July 31, 2004 in Middlesex, England, UK.
