An American film actress and fashion model, who is best known for her role as Jane Porter in the RKO Tarzan films. She was born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, USA. She was married three times and had three children. She worked as a model for several photographers for four years to help pay her tuition at the University of California, Los Angeles. During that time, a talent scout at Fox noticed a design she featured in and immediately signed her. She began appearing in several B-movies. Her most notable film credits include Tarzan and the Leopard Woman (1946), Tarzan and the Amazons (1945), The Pains Came (1939), and Pillow of Death (1945). She died in Santa Monica, California, on July 4, 2009, of dementia and complications from pneumonia, at the age of 92.
