A British stage and film actress, born in Quetta, British India. She is the daughter of actress Ann Codrington. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and signed a two-year contract with Warner Brothers. After some modeling work, she appeared in films such as...Read more The Girl in the Crowd (1934), The Ghost Goes West (1935), Things to Come (1936), The Missing Million (1942), and The Cherry Orchard (1947). She returned to the stage in 1944. In 1952 she joined the BBC, before retiring in the early 1960s. She died on 19 May 2001 in Sussex, England, United Kingdom.
