An English actor from the silent film era, his career continued into the talkie era, appearing in films and theatrical productions in both the United Kingdom and the United States. He was born in Georgetown, British Guiana. He attended Reading College in England and began his stage career, where he continued for three years before making his film debut. He was often cast as a British aristocrat. He took a position in San Francisco, where he settled for a time working in the theater, before moving to films, primarily appearing in Westerns. His most notable films include The Marriage Playground (1929), Redheads on Parade (1935), In Love with Love (1924), and It (1927). He died in Newport Beach, California, USA, on June 15, 1975, at the age of 91.
