A British actor and screenwriter born in London, on April 23, 1885. He was educated in Cambridge, and had a previous experience in Vaudeville theatre. He appeared in silent comedies for Universal and Fox. Among his most important works: Stormy Trail (1936), Life Goes on (1938), I'll Name the Murderer (1936) and Cavalcade of the West (1936). He made his last movie, Easy to Love (1953), then retired until he died in 1972 at the age of 87. |
