A Scottish actress, born in February 1964. She grew up in Grassmont, where she attended Grassmount High School. At the age of fifteen, she secured a place in the Scottish Youth Theatre, where she made her debut at the Royal Lyceum. She began her acting career on television, films and on stage. She played a starring role in Iron, she won the 2002 Theater Awards for Excellence in Acting and the 2003 Evening Theater Awards for Best Actress. Among her most famous works are Jane Eyre and Misfits in 2012.
