An American actress, born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 23, 1929. Among her most notable works are Kiss Me Deadly (1955), All That Heaven Allows (1955), and Hot Rod Rumble (1957). When Leigh was sixteen, she married her classmate James Snowden, and they moved to San Francisco. After their divorce, she moved to Los Angeles. She worked in fashion shows and appeared in small parts on television. She made her film debut in Kiss Me Deadly (1955). In 1961, she made her last film appearance in The Comancheros, and her last television appearance in The Detectives. Thereafter, she quit acting after giving birth to her first child from her second marriage, and devoted herself to taking care of her family. She died in North Hollywood, California, on May 11, 1982, of skin cancer.
