An American writer, producer, and actress, born in Miami, Florida, USA. She was previously married to Charles Cornwell, and they divorced in 1989. She married Staci Gruber in 2005. She graduated in 1979 with a BA in English. In the late 1970s, she worked for the Charlotte Observer. In 1984, got a job at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia and worked for six years there. She helped funding the Virginia Institute for Forensic Science and Medicine, and her first book was an biographical book on Ruth Bell Graham. Her book "The Front (2010)" was adapted into a TV movie in 2010. She also appeared in At Risk (2010).
