An American actress, writer, and acting coach, born on April 14, 1936, in New York City, New York, USA, to Austrian Jewish immigrants. Arlene Martel spent her early years in one of the poorest slums in the Bronx. She started her professional career as a teen when she landed the role of Esther in the Broadway production of "Uncle Willie."
After traveling to Hollywood, she started making guest appearances on TV series, such as The Untouchables (1960-1961), Route 66 (1960-1961), and The Twilight Zone (1959-1961). Later on, she studied method acting and became a member of the Actors Studio.
Arlene had a recurring role in Hogan's Heroes (1965-1970). She died on August 12, 2014, in Santa Monica, California, USA, of complications from heart bypass surgery and breast cancer. She is best known for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964), Star Trek (1967), and Battlestar Galactica (1978).
