In the forties he worked in Broadway musicals, and from 1949 until 1964 he worked in American television and cinema. Ralph Dumke graduated from the University of Notre Dame and was a college football player. He began his film career with a number of short films, the first of which was Sea Sore (1934), while his first feature film was All the King's Men (1949). His most prominent television work was The Mickey Mouse Club (1958), and his last work was the television series The Andy Griffith Show (1961).
