Indian actress and dancer, born in Thiruvananthapuram, India. She is the sister of actresses Lalitha and Ragini, all of whom were classical dancers and actresses known as the “Travancore Sisters.” She and her sisters learned to dance Bharatanatyam (which is one of the styles of Indian classical dance). She has participated in more than 250 Indian films and in many different language films. Her films include Mera Naam Joker (1970), Poove Poochudava (1985), Dheepam (1977), and Dard Ka Rishta (1982). She died on September 24, 2006, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, of a heart attack.
