American actor, born in Bloomington, Indiana, USA. He was married twice and had one child. He was a basketball player at the University of California, where his father was a physical education teacher. MGM discovered him and signed a contract with him. He became the first blond Tarzan, where he participated in the Tarzan film series, then began a long journey with television series. He also participated in television commercials. His most important works include The Six Million Dollar Man (1974), Tarzan, the Ape Man (1959), The Party (1968), and Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979). He died in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on September 9, 2014, due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, at the age of 80.
