An American model and actress born on June 3, 1931 in New York City to parents of Italian and Hungarian origins. She lived in foster homes or with other relatives during her parents' fights. She is known in the fashion industry as the oldest model in the world. She worked with famous photographers, such as Richard Avedon and Irving Pen, and became the muse of artist Salvador Dali. Her wages in 1950 were 300 dollars per the hour, and she retired from the fashion industry in late 1958. She returned in 1978, and her last appearance on the catwalks was in 2012. She was known for The Guru (2002), Celebrity (1998), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999).
