An American actress born on January 8, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA whose parents were Yugoslav immigrants. She was the first in her family to attend college. She began theater studies at UCLA at the age of 16. From there she went to San Francisco for work, where she met co-founder Mabou Mines. The two became a married couple, and in 1964, they went to Paris and earned money from dubbing films for six years. She studied theater at the University of California. She co-founded influential experimental theater group, Mabou Mines. She supported herself by dubbing the voices of actors in foreign films and became best known for The Sleepers (1996), Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008), and C.H.U.D. (1984). She died on September 30, 2013 in Brooklyn, New York City, USA of cancer.
