An American actress, born to Austrian immigrants in New York City, on August 24, 1919, and died in Los Angeles, California, in 1975. Among her most important work: All Through the Night (1942), The Male Animal (1942), and The Powers Girl (1943). Jean Ames appeared in American cinema in the early forties. She played mostly minor roles. She made her film debut in Million Dollar Baby (1941), and her last film was Follow the Band (1943).
