An American actor, born in New York City, on June 28, 1886. He died in Laguna Beach, California, on July 9, 1963, of a heart attack. His most important work includes Souls for Sale (1923), Wild Oranges (1924), and Tim Tyler's Luck (1937). Frank Mayo worked in local theaters in New York City and made his cinematic debut in the 1914 silent film The Lure of the Windigo. After more than a hundred silent films, he made his first talkie, Doughboys (1930). His last film was Samson and Delilah (1949), then he retired until his death. |
