A French actor, born in Rennes, Île-et-Vilaine, France. He was married to actress Françoise Fabian (1986–1988) and remained with her until his death. His most notable works include The French Connection (1971), Le deuxie me souffle (1966), March or Die (1977), and Z (1969). He was a French actor, director, writer, and voice actor who worked in film and television. He usually played the roles of military personnel or hitmen. He also provided the French dubbing voice for actors Charles Bronson and Paul Newman. He appeared as a hitman in the Oscar-winning American film The French Connection (1971). He died in Paris, France, at the age of 58.
