He attended the National High School Institute at Northwestern University in Illinois. He received his master's degree from the University...Read more of California, Los Angeles. In 1967, Jerry was accepted into the Assistant Directors Training Program from the Directors Guild and the Motion Picture Producers Association, graduating in 1969. In 1999, Scarecrow Press published his autobiography about his life as a first assistant director. His works include Almost Famous (2000) and Jerry Maguire (1996). He died on August 1, 2021.
