An American actress, born in New York City, on February 11, 1934. She is an accomplished American actress, singer, and author. She began her career on stage during the mid-1950s, before getting her breakthrough role in the 1958 drama God's Little Acre. She was born to a Jewish family, her father was a confectioner and then became an accountant, and her mother was a model. Her parents separated at the age of four, and her mother took care of her. She attended Miami University in Ohio after high school. She began studying acting, singing and dancing at the age of 17 at Playhouse in Manhattan. She worked as a model and appeared on the covers of many magazines, including Playboy. Her artistic career exceeded 7 decades. She won the 1959 Golden Globe Award for God's Little Acre in 1958 and was nominated for the Golden Laurel Award for the same film. She won the Pop Culture (TV Land) Award in 2004. She was married to the actor and producer Les Crane (1966-1971) and had a child before their divorce. Her most important works include: The Warrior Empress (1960), The Stepford Wives (1975), Gilligan's Island (1964-1967) and God's Little Acre (1958).
