An Estonian-American, born in Tallinn, Estonia, as Estonian-American. His works include Notorious (1946), The Amazing Transparent Man (1960), and The Bad and the Beautiful (1952). He began appearing on stage at the age of 14 in Estonia, and when he was 18, he immigrated to the United States of America and began training in acting and dancing. He appeared as a dancer and pantomime actor in New York City and worked for a short period in Broadway theaters before entering the world of cinema. He's known for playing the roles of foreign officials and villains. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on January 3, 1980, of heart failure.
