He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 26, 1886. He got married 3 times and had no children. He is an American actor and director who began his artistic career with the emergence of silent cinema and worked profusely in cinema. His first silent short film was Mae's Suitors 1911 and his first talking film was The Aviator 1929. He continued his film career mostly in the roles of reporter, casino manager, waiter barman, driver, detective, policeman, soldier, gambler, bouncer, writer and party guest, as well as a friend. His most important works are: Back to the Old Farm (1912), The Penitent (1912), Hilda Wakes (1913) and On Dangerous Ground (1917). His last appearance was in the movie But Not for Me 1959. William Bailey died in 1962 at the age of 76.
