He is known for Running Riot (2006), Burning Rubber (1981), and Heel Against the Head (1999). He received many Best Actor Awards and nominations for his work on stage, film, and television. He also won the Best Screenwriting Award in South Africa for the screenplay for his film, Saturday Night at the Palace (1987). He died on July 11, 2007 in Cape Town, South Africa.
