An American actor who was born in New York City, USA on November 17, 1911 and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA on December 2, 1976. He married actress Donrue Leighton (1935-1936), and they divorced and didn't have children. His most important works are Woman...Read more of the Year (1942), The RoyRogers Show (1952-1955), and Hey, Jeannie! (1956). He was active in drama, acting, and writing when he was a student at Lawrenceville School. He appeared on stage in Washington, DC with the National Theater Troupe. He debuted in cinema in The Spectacle Maker (1934). He excelled in Western films after he signed a contract with MGM. In the fifties, he worked on television, and most of his television roles were about the American West. He is known for The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp (1955-1958), where he presented 57 episodes. His last appearance was in the TV series, The Young Lawyers (1970). He retired from the art business, and he died in 1976 at the age of 65.
