An American actor and stunt performer, born in Meeker, Colorado, USA. His works include The Devil's Tower (1928), Range Riders (1934), Battling Buddy (1924), and Lightning Range (1933). He became a film and television actor in the silent cinema era until the 1950s. He was born to immigrants parents from England, and he was an athlete and a cowboy in his youth.
In 1916, he started working as a stuntman. He joined the US Navy in World War I and survived a shipwreck. He starred in 38 short Western films for $250 for each film. When sound was introduced to films, his roles in films diminished, and he began to participate in films with small roles. He retired after his performance in the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962). He died in Meeker, Colorado, USA on October 6, 1973.
