An American actress and dancer who was born on April 22, 1931 in York, Pennsylvania, USA. She was married to 3 husbands and got one daughter. Her works include The Dick Van Dyke Show (1963), Drums of Tahiti (1954), and Cha-Cha Boom! (1956). She first sang as a young child at the vaudeville theater in Maryland and received her first classical training as a scholarship student at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where she studied dance, voice, and piano. She went to Hollywood at the age of 12. She began her cinematic career as a dancer with films, such as Living in a Big Way (1947) and Singin in the Rain (1952). She worked in cinema, TV, and theatre. She presented her last acting work, The Partners (1971) and devoted herself to choreography for films and television, and continued her career in theatre, nightclubs, films, and television, which spanned 50 years until the 1990s. She retired afterwards.
