An American actress and singer, born in Quebec, Canada, to a father working in the Royal Canadian Air Force. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she attended Fort Hamilton High School, and also studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York. She was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and she was previously married to actor George Gaynes until his death. Some of her works include The Way We Were (1973) and All the President's Men (1976). She died of Alzheimer's disease on May 21, 2018, in Washington State, USA.
