An American actress, born in New York City, USA on January 26, 1914 and died in Santa Monica, California, USA on May 20, 1994 from complications of pneumonia. Her most important works are The Ten Commandments (1956), The Undead (1957), and Private Parts (1972). She was an American actress whose career spanned 6 decades and worked in theatre, film, and television. She began her career in the early forties with theatrical appearances and appeared on the cinema screen in the mid-forties. She appeared in small supporting roles and was famous for working in horror and fantasy films in the roles of witches and gypsies. She worked in Carnegie Technology and the Yale School of Drama and became a cast member at Turnabout Theater. She wrote a children's book. Her first film was Tale of a Dog (1944), and her last work was the TV series True Colors (1991). She died at the age of 80.
