Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States of America. He was born on January 9, 1913, in Yorba Linda, California. Nixon was a member of the United States Congress. Also, he served as Vice President during the presidential term of Dwight D. Eisenhower, then ran for the presidency in 1960, but he lost to John F. Kennedy. However, Nixon returned to the presidential race after eight years and won the elections. In 1974, he resigned, fearing that he would be accused of covering up the illegal activities of his party members in the Watergate scandal. Nixon appeared as himself in the TV series Startime (1959-1960) and Sunday Showcase (1959). He died on April 22, 1994, at the age of 81, in New York City. |
