A Scottish actor born in Peterhead, Scotland, on 4 April, 1892. In 1915, he married Edith Avern, and after their separation he married Anne L. Rendall, who remained with him until his death. He is a Scottish actor who began his career in theater as a child, and continued in theater and cinema until he made more than a hundred films in fifty years. He started his cinematic career in 1914, where he made 20 silent films, until the appearance of voice in 1930. His most important works: Query (1945), Panic in the Parlor (1956), The Good Companion (1933) and The Frog (1937). He died in 1963 at the age of 70.
