An American actress, born in Los Angeles, California, USA as Rita Marie Hamilton. She married twice and had two children. Her major works include Good Morning, Miss Dove (1955), The Unforgiven (1960), Mike Hammer (1958), and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (1965).
She was also a singer and model and was born the youngest of 6 siblings. She made her first film, Our Very Own (1950) and won the title of Miss Optometry in 1953. She signed a contract with 20th Century Fox in 1955 and won the title of Deb Star in the same year. She played her first major role in Good Morning, Miss Dove (1955), and in the second half of the fifties, she appeared as a guest on many TV series.
In the sixties, she appeared in The Unforgiven (1960) then Harlow (1965) while focusing her activity on television work. Her last work was an episode in the series The Virginian (1967), and then she continued acting in regional theater. She died in Beverly Hills, California, USA on January 29, 1981 of breast cancer.
