An American actor who was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, USA as Stanley Robert Vintula Jr. He was nominated for an OFTA Award in 2007 and was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his musical work. He married Dolly Dobbins in 1962, and they had five children. His credits include Flushed Away (2006), Blue Velvet (1986), Goodfellas (1990), and An American Werewolf in London (1981).
He was born to a Lithuanian bandleader father, and a Polish mother who used to sing, dance, and compose songs. He formed his first band at the age of 16 and played in clubs to fund his studies at Duquesne University in Pennsylvania, specializing in musical performance and playing the clarinet and saxophone.
He served two years in the US Army and worked as a chaplain's assistant. In 1960, he was the leader of a band, and he participated in films, TV programs, and many public concerts as a singer, musician, and actor. His first movie was Surf Party (1964), while his last work was an episode of the series Coach (1997). Then he devoted himself to music, singing and composing until he contracted a serious case of shingles in 2015 and retired from work.
