A Scottish-born American actor, born in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland, UK, on March 25, 1892, as Andrew Allan Clyde. Andy Clyde received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his film career. He married actress Elsie Tarron in 1932, with whom he had a child, and she remained with him until he died in 1967. His notable work includes Texas Masquerade (1944), Three Men from Texas (1940), and False Colors (1943). Andy Clyde's career spanned over 40 years. He began his artistic activities in vaudeville theaters and concert halls in Scotland in the twenties, then headed to Hollywood, starting as an extra in short silent comedies, and soon became a distinguished actor. In the mid-thirties, Clyde had his own series of comedy short films, beginning an extended collaboration with Columbia Pictures. He also participated in Paramount's Hopalong Cassidy movie series. Clyde appeared in many Western movies and became a naturalized American citizen in 1943. He also enjoyed a successful career on television, which he continued until he died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on May 18, 1967, at the age of 75.
