A New Zealand film, television and stage actor born in Marton, New Zealand. He studied at Canterbury University College, moved to England in the mid-sixties, and appeared in many British Shakespearean productions at the Theatre Royal and West End in London. He worked on British and Australian television, and also worked on BBC radio and in films. In 1970, he married actress Carol MacReady. In 1973, he won the Logie Award for Best Single Performance by an Actor for the series Boney. Among his credits are The Bourne Identity (1988), State of Play (2003), and One Day (2011). He died on April 18, 2024.
