José Álvaro Osorio Balvín is a Colombian actor, composer, and singer. He was born on May 7, 1985, in Medellín, Colombia. For seven semesters, he attended the prestigious EAFIT University in Medellín, where he studied international business. His song "Ginza" set a new Guinness World Record for the longest time at number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.
He became the first artist to get a diamond certification in the Latin field from the RIAA. His song "Mi Gente" became the number one song in the world according to Global Top 50 on Spotify, and it quickly reached one billion views on YouTube. He was a member of the group MdL Crew, then he joined a rap and reggaeton group called the University of La Calle. His credits include My Spy (2020) and Furious 7 (2015).
