Mary Young was an American actress born in New York City, New York, USA, as Mary Marsden Young. She married actor John Craig (1894-1930), and they had two children before they divorced. Her most important works include The Lost Weekend (1945), The Bride Wore Boots (1946), Alias Jesse James (1959), and Blondie's Holiday (1947).
She was a theater and film actress, whose career spanned seven decades, starting it with performing on Broadway in 1899. She became known for performing the roles of old ladies from 1937 in cinema and 1949 on TV until the end of the sixties. Her first film was This Is My Affair (1937), and her last work was Gomer Pyle: USMC (1968). She died in La Jolla, California, USA, on June 23, 1971, of a heart attack.
