An American comedian, actor, and assistant film director, he and his wife were a vaudeville singing and dancing troupe, and he was a skilled pianist. He was born in Rock Island, Illinois, USA, on September 16, 1880. He married the singer and dancer Effie Conley. Fred Warren began his film career in silent films and continued working until sound was introduced, remaining active until his death. His most notable films include: *With Sitting Bull at the Spirit Lake Massacre* (1927), *The Girl of the Golden West* (1930), *The Matrimaniac* (1916), and *California* (1927). He died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on December 5, 1940, at the age of 60, from complications of a penetrating ulcer.
