She was educated in Philadelphia and began acting in theater. In 1922, she worked in silent films, and the following year she landed leading roles after being included in the WAMPAS Baby Star list. Some of Eleanor Boardman's most notable film credits include: Bardelys the Magnificent (1926), Souls for Sale (1923), The Crowd (1928), and The Circle (1925). She died in Santa Barbara, California, USA, on December 12, 1991, at the age of 93.
