British actor, born Charles Olden in Lancashire, UK on 21 November 1905. His career spanned over two decades. His program on BBC Radio ran for 12 years. His most notable works include My Wife's Family (1956), Please Turn Over (1959), Carry on Teacher (1959), and Tonight at 8:30 (1952). He married showgirl Dorothy Sybil, and they had two children. In 1975, he had a car accident which left him resorting to crutches to walk. He died of a heart attack on 8 November 1977 in London, UK. |
