American actress, born in New York City, on May 6, 1890. Claire got married twice and did not have children. She was from the silent film era. She started her activity in the theater where she joined a theater company before appearing in Broadway theaters, then she moved to the cinema with short and long silent films, in major roles, and when the sound entered the films, her roles were less, so she presented supporting roles of a nurse, secretary, reporter, and others. She ended her cinematic career with the movie Dancing in the Dark (1949), then she appeared in an episode of the series General Electric Theater (1955). Among her notable works are Camille (1917), Beneath the Czar (1914), and Tangled Lives (1917). She died in Los Angeles, California, on August 27, 1969.
