A Lebanese film director, screenwriter, and producer, known for directing the movie Perfect Strangers (2022) and being an executive producer on Nadine Labaki’s Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated film, Capernaum. After completing his film studies in Beirut, Wissam began his career in the advertising industry, quickly making a name for himself as a creative director at several advertising agencies in the MENA region, with a portfolio of over 800 TV commercials since 2001, winning numerous awards at prestigious events such as the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the Epica Awards, and the Dubai Lynx. Wissam Smayra's journey into filmmaking began in earnest in 2003 with the short film Non métrage Libanais, which he co-wrote and directed with Ghassan Koteit, and co-starred Lebanese director and actress Nadine Labaki.
