American actor who was born in New York City, on August 17, 1918 as Mortimer Haig Lichtenstein. He was married to Anne Sinclair Muir (1950-1979), had two children. He was a voice-actor in animated series and also served in the US Army during World War II. After the war, he presented his first television series, Out There (1951). Over the course of thirty years, he worked in supporting roles in cinema and television, and his last work was Starting Over (1979). He died on February 1, 1979 from a coronary arrest, at age 60.
