Maryam Nouhy |
Iraqi writer born in Miqdadiyah, Diyala. He studied to become a teacher and graduated in 1961, working as a secondary school teacher. In 1963, he left Iraq and obtained a PhD from an eastern European country. He taught at universities in North Africa and founded the theater department at the University of Wahran, Algeria in 1984, and that's where he wrote his first play. His most notable plays include Plague Trees (1965), The New House (1968), and The Stranger (1970). He died on 17 December 2015.
