British actor born in London, England, on 10 June 1935. He studied at RADA and made his debut on the play Tea and Sympathy. He was a member of the BBC Radio Drama Co. and starred in several Shakespearean plays. His film debut was on Sally's Irish Rogue (1958). His most notable works include Armchair Theatre (1958-1960), Agatha (1979), and Mutiny on the Bounty (1962). He married twice and had one child.
