Biographies:

• British stage and film actor and theatre director, born in Streatham Hill, London, on May 28, 1897. He served in World War I in the Royal Air Force, and after his discharge from...Read more the army, he returned to the stage. In the early twenties he participated in silent films, and returned to the stage and joined the Old Vic Theatrical Company, and appeared at the West End Theater in London. He toured various British provinces during World War II, and directed many plays. In the cinema, he reappeared in talking pictures, and he presented many supporting roles, and when the television broadcast began, he participated in some television programs. Among his notable works: The Ghost Camera (1933), East of Shanghai (1931), and Guest of Honor (1934). He died of a heart attack in southern France on June 9, 1962.
