In 1953, he founded his own theater company and took over management of the Aldershot Hippodrome. In 1955, he moved his company to Wimbledon, continuing as an actor and director of Wimbledon Theatre. Among his important works are: The Secret of Stamboul (1936), The Second Mrs. Tanqueray (1952), and The Silent Passenger (1935). He died in London, on September 7, 1962.
