British actor, born in Battersea, London, on September 5, 1935. He had received a scholarship to train at the Italian Conti Academy of Dramatic Art, when he was 12 years old. Among his important works are: So It Goes (1973), Au Pair Girls (1972), Echo Beach (2008) and Coronation Street (1974-2006). In 2006, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards. He was married twice and had six children. He died in England, on February 28, 2021, of a long illness.
